Beauty?

What is beauty? Does anyone know.? I think of beautiful as thin and perfect and flawless skin. But what does the outside world think. Atr work today I was walking down the dock from grabbing my lunch. One of the guys at aother company, he was at least 50, stopped me and said " It is amazing how beautiful you always are" I smiled and said thank you. Then i thought is he on crack? My hair is in a bun all back, My face is all red, rashed and broken out looking. I was just trying not to itch and he says that. But then I think. This is not bragging but truth. I have a " fan club" of a few customers at work. And many a time walking down the dock I have been hit on. And also there are a few others who have said I am beautiful. SO there poses this question. What is beauty. I do not think I am beautiful, I am not thin I am overweight, I may have curves, but i have a tummy. I have no makeup on and my hair is all back. To me I look horrible. I will admit I am not ugly, I may even consider myself pretty at times but when I think beauty I think angelina jolie , Katherine zeta jones. Just natural beautys. So the question is If I loose weight and become thin, Will I still be beautiful to those people. Or is my veiw of beauty hurting who I think I am ?

Staph infection :(

What is staph infection?

It is a type of infection caused by a Staphylococcus (or "staph") bacteria. Actually, about 25% of people normally carry staph . The foot is very prone to pick up bacteria from the floor. The infection often begins with a little cut, which gets infected with bacteria. The infection often begins with a little cut, which gets infected with bacteria.

These staph infections range from a simple boil to antibiotic-resistant infections to flesh-eating infections. The difference between all these is how deep and how fast the infection spreads, and how treatable it is with antibiotics. The antibiotic-resistant infections are more common in North America, because of our overuse of antibiotics.

The type of staph infection that involves skin is called cellulitis and affects the skin's deeper layers. It is treatable with antibiotics.

This type of infection is very common in the general population -- and more common and more severe in people with weak immune systems. People who have diabetes or weakened immunity are particularly prone to developing cellulitis.

What does staph infection look like?

Staph cellulitis usually begins as a small area of tenderness, swelling, and redness. Sometimes it begins with an open sore. Other times, there is no break in the skin at all -- and it's anyone's guess where the bacteria came from.

The signs of cellulitis are those of any inflammation -- redness, warmth, swelling, and pain. Any skin sore or ulcer that has these signs may be developing cellulitis. If the staph infection spreads, the person may develop a fever, sometimes with chills and sweats, as well as swelling in the area.

What can be done about a staph infection?

Antibiotics are used to treat these infections. But there's been a gradual change in how well these antibiotics are working. While most staph infections used to be treatable with penicillin, in the 1980s that changed and stronger antibiotics are now used.

In about 50% of cases, however, we see resistance to even these stronger antibiotics. These cases are not just happening in hospitals -- as once was true -- but now are occurring in the general community. That's been a problem. Many doctors are accustomed to using certain antibiotics, but those then fail because of antibiotic resistance. There are several more potent antibiotics now, but doctors need to know when to use them.

There's another treatment we sometimes use with staph infections. If the infection goes so deep that it involves muscles or fibers that enclose muscles, it needs to be surgically cleaned.

Can staph infection be prevented?

You can take steps to help prevent it. Any time you have a cut or skin breakdown, wash it with soap and water, keep it clean and dry, use antiseptic ointment, and keep it covered. A couple of recent outbreaks among football players began when one team member had a boil, and the infection was spread to other team members.

The staph infection is contagious if the wound is weeping or draining, and if people share towels or other items that are contaminated. Wearing foot coverings in locker rooms and other commonly used areas can help prevent contamination.

If the sore becomes unusually painful or red, get prompt medical attention. If red lines develop, that's a sign the infection is spreading and needs medical attention.

Skin its overrated

SO I am putting in a link to some pictures. Beware they are nasty. They are my bad skin. realy bad skin. I have had sensitive skin for years, A few years ago it started to get worse. Cuts would take forever to heal, they did check for diabetes but I instead have both excema and scoricis. But I have also had flesh eating bacteria. Pleasent huh. Well I also forgot I am alergic to bandaid tape. So on my hand I got a cut. I put a band aid on it at work so I didn't get crap into it. Well when the bandaid came off I had small rashy water blisters and itchyness so I scratch. SO a month and a half later my hand looks like a freek of nature. I have to wear a wrist brace and just the tefla type pad on my hand because i can not use bandaids. So while this is going on i start getting a rash on my face beside my mouth. I thought at first maybe I drooled in my sleep and the saliva iritated. Not my luck. 1 week later it is still there and worse. I am putting hydracortizone on it. And no it isn't acne. Acne is different on me which I get too. So now is the life of nothing. No perfumes, hair dye, nail polish, makeup. Back to Baby shampoo, baby detangling spray, baby wash and baby lotion. I know I need my eyebrows waxed but I may break down and do it. Ok I am ranting, I am kinda angry, When my skin is good I have beautiful skin. When it goes bad it goes bad. Before you look at these pictures they are my yucky skin kinda gross so be warned www.kskin.mypicgallery.com
